DESCRIPTION:
French, Le Roy & Cie, Mysterious timepiece, the movement contained within the ball of the pendulum and causing the pendulum to swing WITHOUT apparent impulse, the clock suspended from a patinated spelter female statue, leaning over a pond next to a fountain, with Paris foundry mark on the rear, c1885
CONDITION:
the statue retains original finish with some nicks and scrapes around the base. Movement is signed Le Roy and with serial number 22060. We verified that the clock ticks, however it is out of beat and needs new suspension steel in the "3-point" mystery suspension. Movement is complete and sound, and serial number on compound pendulum matches the movement. Enamel trim on ring that surrounds the movement is very good. Note rear dust cover is a friction push fit, do not turn knurled knob to remove. Original numerals and hands on globe. Ht 23"
